Commanders,

 

It has long been requested and with the idea in mind to improve communication and transparency, here’s a summary of the main, biggest, meanest issues that have been (and still are) plaguing the game so far.

 

Please note that while not all issues are gathered here we are tracking all issues you have reported via any and all channels.

 

I will keep this post updated with current information as soon as I have more to share.

 

Here are the top 5 in game issues reported by the European community (in no particular order):

  • Friendly fire is not working in a satisfying way (new players not enough aware of the damage they are making and trolls not punished enough)
    • We are testing options and potential solutions for this issue, Developers have confirmed in the Reddit AUA held on the 3rd of October
    • We've improved the end of battle information about Friendly Fire in update 2.2
    • We're still looking in new ways to improve this issue regarding Friendly Fire
  • Blobbing is making most strategic and tactical thinking obsolete
  • Has been reported to our developers and is a serious issue we are looking into
  • We've improved the collision mechanics slightly reducing the blobbing issue (Please note that we don't consider it to be at a satisfying level and we are still looking into new ways to improve this)
  • Tier difference in matchmaking is making games very unbalanced
  • The tier range for matchmaking will probably be reduced in the future and we would like to hear more feedback about this Developers have confirmed in the Reddit AUA on the 3rd of October
  • In update 2.3 we've toned down commanders so they can only use their skills based on the tier level of the units used
  • While this has improved the low tier matchmaking, the high tier matchmaking has been unaffected by this and has gotten worse (Tier 7 upwards)
    • We are investigating ways of improving this situation
  • Flagged as AFK when playing (main exemple locked in Oath with all 3 units, 1 very low health unit left camping tower)
    • We are aware of this and investigating this issue
  • Balance needed between units and factions (non exhaustive lists: Greek cav, Pikemen, Alexander. Barrage, Arty, etc.)
    • We are constantly working on balancing the game. While this is a difficult and can be a longer process than you would expect, we are committed to improve the situation
    • Please bear in mind that balancing is an ever ongoing process and hard to reach the perfect point, but we're aiming for it

 

There are a lot of other issues as we said, and as we move on with the updates and game patches, this list will change and some of the other big issues might see the way here (unless they are resolved before getting in this top 5 list).

 

Why a top 5 list? Having a full list is not only time consuming, it is also very hard to keep up to date on a regular basis while also keeping you informed of where we are at with those issues. We aim to be as transparent as possible while also effectively communicating with you on the status of our work.

 

For this to be the most efficient we rather prefer focusing on the most important points than being as complete as possible but not as accurate and efficient in our work.

Archive:

  • Pathfinding not working correctly
    • Update 2.1.1 should solve some of these issues. Let us know if you see more of these
    • While these don't seem to be a huge issue anymore, there are still some reports we are investigating
  • Kill/Death scoreboard is not encouraging team play
  • Developers confirmed they had plans to go back to a point-based system. More to come on this in the future (no ETA yet) - This was confirmed in the Reddit AUA on the 3rd of October
  • In update 2.3 we've changed the scoreboard system - do let us know what you think of this new Scoreboard system
  • This point, if seen that the community considers it closed will be removed and let another point take it's place
  • This has now been changed to a point based system. But we're looking into solutions and ways to improve it

Indeed that Top 5 list doesn't cover all issues - but I personally feel that they are all worthy 'top-five-contenders'.

 

Keep the info/communication/feedback coming - this is definitely a visible improvement on your part.

i can add. consumable sometimes thy restoc sometimes not..
Unit identifier (white frame around units) in menu you have option turn of but not working

I know that these are not very important issues:

- remove spam in global chat (rolled a x out of 100 )

- add platoon/party chat in battle

- when you are in party its not possible to see your friend units before battle 

- auto restock

- when i started the game for the first time - video graphic was set at Ultra and played the tutorial with 10 fps. Maybe it is good idea the player to be able to adjust his settings before the tutorial start automatically.

You need a moderator in the global chat to deal with all the idiots and spammers.

Its becoming a joke..

This issue is getting worse all of time. Whole global chat starts to be full of spammers and trolls who make whole chat unusable with constant spam.

Yep, another nudge towards desperate need for a "persisting perma-block" function to remove the annoyance of a player once and for all.  [In the interim, feel free to pm the spammers over and over as they love it :rolleyes: and you can build rapport!  They aren't a macro after all :ohmy:]

Hey guys,

 

Thanks for getting back to us regarding all this. :)

 

Just to let you know that this spam-fest is something we are looking into, as well as all the other issues. (parties feature missing, tier differences and MM, unit identifiers, too high settings on tutorial)

 

In the meantime please feel free to send tickets to our Customer Support reporting these spammers so we can chat block them. (It might not be immediate but at least at some point they won't be able to post anymore.)

  • For these tickets, add at least a screenshot and at the very least the time it happened (use GMT) and name of the person.

 

Also, quick note about the auto-restock issue, it was fixed but either not fully fixed or it broke again. In any case it has as everything above also been reported so devs would look at it once more.

The issue with restocking happens when you level up, I been keeping an eye out for it.

 

In regards to friendly fire, I think we need to accept some of it as players, as playing archers or arty it is impossible no to TK unless you do not fire at all. Focus shot helps a lot, but limited. 

How about switch off FF for low tiers, and for higher tiers have a ratio, and anythign above this will be fined by giving the other player offenders free xp. So if i do 50k damage, but out of that 5k damage, it should be accepted. If I do 20k damage, then for 10k damage my xp goes to players i FF on.  This will slow down players development so they would have to learn not to FF...just an idea :)

rlly unfair game we got here, premades vs solo queuers rlly? this game is all about teamwork and is not fun to play againt an organized team with a team full of random memes that done even know what is going on in front on them, making may units unplayable and rlly poor xperience of game, Make 2 queues for solo players and another for groups, or this game has no future 100%

 

There are people with very poor skill with more than 70% win rate and me for example I am grand master in starcraft 2 cant barely reach 50% which is disgusting simply coz i play solo. 

 

Until u make the solo que, or at least i dont play againts an organized team with  memes allies that can´t even cover or look to the flanks, behind, etc. im done with this disgusting game.

When archers fire to a selected enemy unit and the enemy unit is killed or go out of rage archers fire next enemy unit and cause friendly fire.

 

Please fix it. If enemy unit is killed or out or rage archers should cease fire automatically.

Why can't the K/D be shown as well. Another column? Just cos it would be good to see all aspects of your performance, and while there are other ways of contributing to your teams performance, battles are about killing and dying. I do think more emphasis should be put on having men left to survive and a reward for having a fighting force left at the end of the battle. And also on the FF issue. There needs to be an alert button (F2) that also has friendly fire warning. So you can call artillery strike, suggest defence, warn about flanking enemies, and you should be able to warn about FF. It would be easy. Then the game does a quick calculation on how many times the FF warning was used, which players caused a lot of friendly fire and then those players should have all rewards lost if they are found guilty of unnecessary FF but still have replenishment costs.. Easy way to encourage more team work

i particularly like the idea regarding the Friendly Fire hotkey solution provided. I'll add it in my next report to devs and let them know ASAP about this.

 

That being said, we're still working on improving the game and all feedback is being reported to them.

 

Regarding the K/D, from my understanding there a space issue (put too much information in one space and it becomes unreadable or not spaced enough) while also giving the wrong habits to players who will focus on killing more than supporting their allies. While some unit specialise in killing and/or dealing damage, others have other function, such as soaking up the damage, assisting other units, etc. I'll still let the devs know that having K/D on top of the score system is something some players want.

Also, please note that having a thread about a single topic helps us understanding how popular an idea is and if all active forum users approve or not of the idea. So do let us know what you think of everyone's else's ideas. ^^
